Atlona Now Shipping New Mid-Span Power Supply; Wall Plate Extender

Atlona, an AV distribution solutions provider, is now shipping its new AT-PS-POCC mid-span power supply.

Atlona, an AV distribution solutions provider, is now shipping its new AT-PS-POCC mid-span power supply.

Designed to power PoCc-compatible HDBaseT transmitters and/or receivers without requiring the related Atlona power source device, the AT-PS-POCC can send power to a compatible transmitter, receiver, or both using the same category cable as the HDBaseT signal.

The AT-PS-POCC is a 24V DC bi-directional power supply ideal for any AV environment in which neither the transmitters nor receivers can receive power from a powered transmitter or switch. The system is also useful in installations that would be unduly cluttered with additional power supply wiring. A switch allows the AT-PS-POCC to provide power between the transmitter and receiver, in either direction or both directions simultaneously, and a single power supply can power multiple AT-PS-POCC devices. The solution can be used to enable and disable PoCc devices for easy power routing, and its captive screw design ensures a secure and reliable connection.

In a typical installation, the AT-PS-POCC could connect Atlona’s AT-HDVS-TX-WP transmitters/switchers with RSNET, IR, and PRO3 receivers or HDBaseT displays (such as those from Epson or Panasonic). The power supply also supports RSNET, IR, and PRO3 PoCc receivers with PRO2 switchers and RSNET, IR, and PRO3 PoCc receivers from HDBaseT AVRs (such as Pioneer).

To ensure the delivery of the highest quality signals to transmitters and receivers, the AT-PS-POCC fully supports pass-through of resolutions up to 4K x 2K or 1920 x 1200 as well as full 3D pass-through. Supporting PoCc-powered transmitters or receivers as well as non-PoCc power source equipment, the device also supports lossy and lossless multichannel audio formats including Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio.

In addition, Atlona is also shipping its new AT-HDTX-WP, an HDMI-to-HDBaseT wall plate extender and transmitter. With the ability to transmit HDMI signals up to 4K resolution to support UltraHD television, using power over category cable (PoCc) at distances up to 230 feet (70 meters), the AT-HDTX-WP simplifies installations while bringing improved connectivity and control to installed AV systems.

The AT-HDTX-WP can connect with any Atlona HDBaseT receiver, creating opportunities for more elaborate design and distribution scenarios within a variety of commercial settings. The unit can be powered from an HDBaseT receiver with power, such as Atlona’s AT-HDVS-RX, or the company’s AT-PS-POCC mid-span power supply, eliminating the need for power at the wall plate and reducing the cost and complexity of installation. For further flexibility, the AT-HDTX-WP features complete RS-232 and IR control for compatibility with all of today’s major control systems. The system also transmits audio signals, including Dolby TrueHD or DTS-HD Master Audio.

Available now, the AT-HDTX-WP wall plate fits both U.S. and U.K. two-gang wall boxes and features a rugged steel construction.
