BEAM Built-in Vacuums has appointed Jim Carmichael as global product manager. Carmichael brings 30 years of experience as a central vacuum dealer and as a BEAM sales representative to his new role.
"Jim has a unique understanding of what built-in vacuum dealers need from a product standpoint as well as sales and marketing support to help them succeed," said Harry Kandilas, general manager of BEAM.
Carmichael began his career in 1986 where he ran his family's BEAM dealership near Chattanooga, TN. After selling his business in 1999, he joined BEAM as a territory sales manager for the southeast U.S. In that role, he helped establish numerous BEAM dealerships, developed their product knowledge and implemented support programs that enabled dealers to successfully introduce and market central vacuum systems and accessories to their customers.
In 2011, he was selected to manage the Inside Sales and Customer Service team for Electrolux Small Appliances in Charlotte, NC. While at the corporate office Carmichael has worked across many different areas of the business, including the role of central vacuum category manager for the U.S.
In his new role, Carmichael will be responsible for leading the development of new central vacuum products and product categories, and for providing marketing and sales support programs to help dealers successfully launch products in their markets.
