Dana Innovations, parent company of Sonance, iPort and TRUFIG, has opened its new Design Center and Gallery at its headquarters in San Clemente, southern California.

“As the inventor of the in-wall and in-ceiling speaker category, our company has a history of combining technology and aesthetics in harmony; providing the best of both worlds where performance meets design,” said Ari Supran, CEO of Dana Innovations. “Our newly renovated facility provides us with the opportunity to showcase our brands and product families in a space that is truly reflective of this philosophy.”

The Dana Design Gallery showcases a Sonance “Degrees of Invisibility” Wall that visually represents the architectural evolution of its speakers, and an SLS (Sonance Landscape Series) display that shows speakers hidden in a garden bed. In addition, Sonance Invisible Series speakers are installed throughout the ceiling, providing high quality audio while maintaining the minimalistic design of the Gallery.

A dedicated iPort and LaunchPort area provides a platform to demonstrate its MFi (“Made for iPad” and “Made for iPod”) family of products streaming via Apple Airplay across an Access Networks Wi-Fi backbone.

The space has been treated to a full TRUFIG makeover, including new HVAC linear diffusers, power outlets, Lutron keypads, iPads and custom Lucifer LED down lights and exit signs. A dedicated TRUFIG area features Poggenpohl cabinetry, a stone wall with the TRUFIG logo inlayed in contrasting stone and vignettes that display the same floor to ceiling TRUFIG configuration installed into different surfaces including wood paneling, tile, wainscoting, plaster and drywall.

A Sonance critical listening room allows for accurate A/B comparisons across up to twelve different speaker sizes and performance levels in both floor and ceiling installations. Uncompressed FLAC files are streamed via Peachtreee Audio DAC and AudioQuest cables to SonAmp 875 amplifiers.

A state-of-the-art training and conference facility features a floor to ceiling acoustic treatment, Sonance Cinema Series audio system, Lutron shades, lighting control and ballasts, Sim2 Multimedia Lumis 3D-SOLO projector, Screen Innovations Black Diamond projection screen, Bitwise Controls control system, AudioQuest cables, Key Digital video switching and Furman power conditioning.

A new open-plan engineering and operations space continues with the contemporary minimalistic theme to inspire workers, featuring polished concrete floors and walls and exposed beams while the new speaker lab and anechoic chamber provide the perfect R&D and testing area for the future evolution of the Sonance brand.
