Display Development Introduces Compact DCI Certified Systems

Display Development, originator of the Residential Architectural Video System category, has introduced two compact, true cinema solutions.

Display Development, originator of the Residential Architectural Video System category, has introduced two compact, true cinema solutions.

The Digital Film 4 (DF4) and Digital Film 5 (DF5) systems deliver 2K DCI performance with optional 3D upgrade, coupled with a powerful Xenon lamp, that provides output levels up to 10,000 lumens, all wrapped up in a chassis just under 28 inches deep.

“The Digital Film Series models are the high fidelity performance solution when nothing short of a true movie theater experience will do,” said Jim Burns, co-founder and president of Display Development. “The DF4 and DF5 systems are compact in size and both are extremely capable of providing sufficient output for bright rooms with acoustically transparent screens, as well as superb 3D operation. With the added flexibility these new models offer, we are thrilled to expand true digital cinema opportunities for our dealers.”

The Digital Film systems utilize the 16-bit processing required by the Digital Cinema Initiative for True Cinema Projectors. The systems’ powerful Xenon lamps offer impressive consistency, extending color gamut while vastly improving image fidelity with wider dynamics and color fidelity.

The compact DF systems provide varying levels of performance and installation options, along with ability to process 3D images from DCI servers (when available), as well as provide 3D perfection from consumer Blu-ray Discs today—without requiring special screen materials.

Available now, both models include Display Development’s VP-100 Video Processor and Smart Cooling System. The DF4 uses the VariScope lens allowing for multiple screen memories without the need of an anamorphic lens, while the DF5 is paired with a fixed image width lens.
