DPL Laboratories, Inc. has launched an all-new website that has been completely redesigned and engineered to offer easy access to an extensive database of important information about high-bandwidth, high definition digital signaling solutions such as HDMI, as well as in-depth details on its ground-breaking DPL Seal of Approval Program.

As an expansion of its Digital Performance Level HDMI cable testing and certification program, packaging of cable products that have been tested and approved by DPL Labs will now bear a consumer-friendly “Seal of Approval” trademark. This new program insignia will better help consumers clearly identify those products which DPL has approved as superior-performing HDMI cables.

Utilizing a totally brand-blind independent laboratory, DPL Labs puts HDMI cables through a “torture test” with the resulting performance analyzed and compared against a reference standard to provide a performance rating.

Up until now, DPL Labs conducted testing in multiple product “classifications,” each class containing multiple configurations, and then determined a performance capability and granted a rating on a multiple-level scale. The fully implemented program required 15 separate trademarks.

With DPL’s new Seal of Approval Program, the company will continue with the same testing regime, but will now signify those products that meet DPL’s quality standards with a simple trademark that makes selection of HDMI products easier, according to the company.

With a powerful combination of completely independent testing, rigorous performance standards, and now labeling superior products with a clearly identifiable Seal of Approval – DPL’s popular program is now more powerful than ever before.

Over the course of several months, DPL Labs has conducted extensive marketing tests of the new Seal of Approval Program. These tests have shown that consumers prefer to buy HDMI cables that have been clearly labeled as superior by an independent testing laboratory.

DPL Labs president Jeffrey Boccaccio, in announcing the new program, said, “Our new DPL Seal of Approval will make it easier than ever for all cable buyers, consumers and professionals, to clearly identify which HDMI cables have been Approved by DPL to offer higher quality performance – and better long-haul reliability. When you want to know which HDMI cable to buy…simply look for the DPL Seal of Approval – it is the only way you’ll know for sure that the product is independently tested and Approved to provide superior HDMI performance.”
