HAI Thermostats to be Installed in 150 New Orleans Homes

New Orleans, LA — New Orleans-based HAI (Home Automation Inc.) has donated 150 ENERGY STAR Omnistat2 Thermostats to Brad Pitt’s Make It Right Foundation, which was launched in December of 2007 to build 150 affordable, sustainable homes in New Orleans’ Lower 9th Ward for residents impacted by Hurricane Katrina.

“HAI just completed its most successful sales year ever in 2008. We are happy to be in a position to help promote energy efficiency while being able to lend support for those needing help in our own backyard,” said Jay McLellan, HAI president.

McLellan added that Omnistat2 programmable thermostats are designed to help reduce energy bills and allow homeowners to view weekly usage levels of their A/C and heating units. A simple programming feature lets homeowners pre-set temperatures for different times and days of the week, based upon their needs.

“We see the ENERGY STAR Omnistat2 thermostat as a perfect fit for eco-friendly homeowners,” McLellan said.

Tom Darden, executive director of the Make It Right Foundation, said that his organization is “thrilled” to be part of HAI’s endeavors. “We rely on the support of organizations like HAI and cannot thank them enough for helping us to rebuild our great city,” he said. “We are proud to be working with companies all over the world, but it’s especially beneficial when a quality local company like HAI is able to participate.”
