New York, NY–The Home Entertainment 2004 Show, scheduled to take place on November 4-7, 2004 at the Westin-St. Francis Hotel, has been cancelled due to the hotel labor issue in San Francisco.
Upon making the announcement, Adam Marder, President of PRIMEDIA’s Home Technology and Photography Group, sponsors of the event said, “We have been monitoring the situation in San Francisco very closely and are disappointed that the city and hotel union workers have not been able to come to an agreement. The disruption of services would effect our
exhibitors and show attendees and we had no choice but to cancel the event.”
The next Home Entertainment Show is scheduled for April 28th through May 1st 2005 in New York City.
The four-week dispute began on September 29, 2004 and affects the following hotels: Argent, Hilton, Crowne Plaza, Fairmont, Four Seasons, Grand Hyatt, Hyatt Regency, Holiday Inn Civic Center, Holiday Inn Express and Suites Fisherman’s Wharf, Holiday Inn at Fisherman’s Wharf, Mark Hopkins, The Omni, Palace and Westin-St. Francis.
