John McCready with daughter Megan Bowermaster
The industry is mourning the loss of John P. McCready, who died Tuesday in Chicago, IL.
McCready’s consumer electronics industry executive leadership was extensive, including stints as president of Marantz America Inc. (1996-2005), Linksys as director of product marketing (2005-2007), Paradigm Electronics as brand manager for Anthem (2008-10), and Harman Consumer Group in product development (1992-96).
He was a graduate of Chapman University. His passion and talent for the design of AV products, painting, and photography filled his spare time.
McCready is survived by his wife, Molly Gibson, two daughters, Megan Bowermaster and Erin McCready, and three grandchildren, James, Nolan, and Bryn Bowermaster.
A private memorial gathering for family and friends will be held in Denver, CO, at a later date.
