The International Franchise Association (IFA) has named Matt Walin, owner of Daisy in Costa Mesa, Calif., as a 2024 Franchisee of the Year award winner. Walin was honored at the 65th IFA Annual Convention in Las Vegas, Nev., for being an outstanding franchise establishment owner-operator. The IFA Franchisee of the Year awards are given to the top franchisees from IFA member brands across industries from around the country and the world.

“Franchisees of the Year represent the very best of franchising,” says Matt Haller, president and CEO of the International Franchise Association. “They embody the American Dream, create economic opportunity, serve their communities, and show what it means to go into business for yourself, but not by yourself. We are proud to recognize Matt Walin with the highest honor IFA awards to individual franchisees, and we salute his tireless efforts to lift up all those he serves.”
The Franchisee of the Year awards recognize leading franchise owners from IFA member brands whose outstanding performance and contributions help protect, enhance, and promote the franchise business model. Nominated by their parent company, individuals are selected for their service to their communities, fostering a strong and vibrant workforce, opening the doors for career growth and entrepreneurship, and supporting their fellow franchisees.
“As our flagship franchisee, Matt has opened his doors, literally, to our rapidly growing team and to prospective franchisees and their teams,” says Hagan Kappler, co-founder and CEO of Daisy. “As we have built out technology tools, including implementing a CRM and an ERP, as well as sales and marketing programs, Matt has been first in line to pilot and test with his team. Working with our corporate team of experienced home services and franchising leaders, Matt piloted ongoing service models that were first of its kind for this industry. Without Matt Walin, there would not be a Daisy.”
Additionally, at the recent IFA convention with thousands of franchisees and franchisors in attendance, Kappler spoke about the importance of responsible franchising. With seven franchises signed in only 10 months, Daisy has had an impressive first year in its franchising journey. The company is intentionally focused on supporting its franchisees’ success, both those who are starting a career in custom integration and those transforming their existing businesses.
