Modus VR Updates its Virtual Reality Design Platform

New features include non-rectangular rooms and additional items to place.

Modus VR has announced a series of upgrades to its platform, which won a CEDIA Best in Show Award from Residential Systems. Modus VR is a unique sales tool for AV professionals that helps salespeople close deals faster and upsell naturally by leveraging VR technology. Using VR, Modus lets clients experience their theater and media rooms before construction ever begins. Unlike traditional workflows, everything in Modus VR can be changed on the fly, allowing a salesperson to demonstrate the value of different screen sizes, seating configurations, and more — all in real time.

With Modus VR, every client space can be re-created to scale within minutes, greatly accelerating the design of the media room of their dreams. The solution factors in room size and space shape (including the unique angles of the space), as well as window and door placement to make the space true to reality. Users can even customize select style elements, from room color to wall-placed artwork.

The new updates include the ability to quickly and easily create non-rectangular rooms using the 2D Floor Plan Editor that also enables users to zoom, change ceiling height, and, when ready, open in VR.

Also new in the software update are four new projectors from Sony, a foosball table, a ping pong table, and a club chair that enable users to expand beyond dedicated theater environments to media rooms and non-rectangular spaces. In addition, seats now move up and down as the riser height changes.
