NetStreams, the supplier of IP-based AV-distribution systems, is dropping two-step distribution to focus on direct sales to installers, the company announced.

NetStreams was purchased late last year by IP-based audio-conferencing system supplier ClearOne, which said it is making the distribution change to shorten “the lines of communication for pre and post sales support,” streamline product fulfillment, and strengthen business relationships with dealers.

As part of the new direction, NetStreams has already recruited a nationwide group in independent reps and established an internal technical sales team to help dealers with pre-sale and post-sale technical support, product education, system quotes and on-site service. NetStreams also said it redesigned its dealer training program.

“We have some very compelling products coming,” said sales VP Buzz Goddard. “Having the NetStreams sales and support team tightly connected with the integrators will maximize their ability to effectively bring NetStreams solutions to the end user.”

Publicly traded ClearOne paid around $2 million in cash and assumed around $2 million of long-term debt held by privately held NetStreams.
