On-Q/Legrand Acquires UStec

The structured wiring systems company will merge with On-Q/Legrand's Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, operations while retaining its brand identity.

Harrisburg, PA–On-Q/Legrand has acquired UStec, located in Victor, New York, enabling the company to integrate performance-oriented product lines and direct-to-dealer distribution relationships into its organization. On-Q/Legrand will merge the existing business of UStec into its Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, operations and continue selling the product under the UStec brand alongside current On-Q branded products.

“The addition of the UStec-branded product line will position On-Q/Legrand to better serve customers with greater choices as well as additional high-performance solutions. These products will continue to be sold through the existing UStec dedicated direct sales force,” said Stephen Schoffstall, VP of marketing for On-Q/Legrand.

On-Q/Legrand will now offer UStec branded products through the existing UStec direct sales channel. “Our company is well positioned for expansion as consumer demand for residential home systems increases in the new construction and existing home markets,” said Doug Fikse, president of On-Q/Legrand. “Through this acquisition we believe we can obtain significant double-digit growth, and it ensures we have technical developments, expanded product lines, and sales channels to meet the growing demand.”

This announcement marks the company’s first acquisition since March of 1995 when Legrand acquired On-Q Technologies and combined it with its Greyfox business unit to form On-Q/Legrand, essentially eliminating the Greyfox brand.
