The SW16-16PB features a full 16 ports of PoE and each can be individually power cycled. Power to VOIP phones, PoE cameras, access points, and more, can be accessed remotely and cycled for troubleshooting or system health monitoring.

The SW16-16PB can be configured using a device such as an Apple iPad, iPhone, keypad or laptop with its graphical user interface (GUI) via the web. It can also be configured using a traditional command line interface (CLI) for more sophisticated networks. This allows the SW16-16PB to perform tasks such as VLAN (Virtual Local Area Network), and QoS (Quality of Service).

The SW16-16PB offers fiber-optic uplink ports for stable connection to fiber cable-connected devices even with long-distance cable runs. The SW16-16PB can also be used as a fiber hub. It offers gigabit-speed uplink capability to ensure better data throughput than traditional daisy-chained connections, according to Pakedge.

In the near future, the SW16-16PB will be preconfigured to work with Pakedge routers and access points with no additional programming required, the company says.

“Our new SW16-16PB is a great midlevel switch that rounds out our POE product offering,” said Victor Pak, president and CEO of Pakedge. “It’s perfect for the dealer that needs more than the 8 port but doesn’t want to spend as much as the 24 port.”
