SED and Nikada Join Forces

SED and recently emerged Nikada Inc have signed an agreement naming SED as the distributor of Nikada-branded HD flat panel TVs.

Atlanta, CA–Consumer electronics distributor, SED International, and recently emerged Nikada Inc, a U.S. manufacturer of home and personal electronic entertainment products, have signed an agreement naming SED as the distributor of Nikada-branded high-definition flat panel TVs and portable MP3 players in the United States.

Officials for both companies said first dealer deliveries of Nikada products will begin in February. “We look forward to having a major role in making Nikada a top brand in consumer electronics,” said Chuck Marsh, senior vice president, purchasing at SED. “Partnering with them is a central pillar in our strategy to increase business within the conventional consumer electronics product categories like audio and video. The addition of Nikada to our offerings, should stir some significant interest from the specialty retail, big box and rent-to-own channels.”

Nikada’s product line includes high definition 42- and 50-inch plasma TVs, high definition LCD TVs ranging in size from 17- to 37-inches, and portable MP3 players, includes models with voice recording.

“Nikada places a very high value on the retail and commercial market coverage it will get in teaming with SED,” said Albert Wu, president and CEO of Nikada. “We offer a level of product quality, performance, dealer support, and customer service that’s unique in the market. Our distribution partners recognize our value and are confident in our reliability to meet the growing demand for large screen, high definition plasma and LCD TVs.”

Nikada, making inroads into the U.S. market, recently announced a reseller agreement with target.com, and additional resellers agreements are expected shortly.
