Josh.ai is releasing its Nimble DevSuite+ update to deliver greater interoperability and customization for professional installers. Nimble DevSuite+ expands the tools available for integrators to address unique client needs while personalizing smart home experiences.
A key enhancement in Nimble DevSuite+ is the ability for Josh.ai to communicate with externally hosted Home Assistant environments. This optional capability allows advanced installers to leverage an open-source third-party platform when configuring systems for projects with specialized requirements. By supporting connectivity through an independently hosted environment, Josh.ai offers installers additional protocol flexibility without requiring custom development within the Josh.ai platform itself.
Nimble DevSuite+ also introduces expanded tools for advanced integrators to develop and deploy their own custom drivers for unique project needs. These independently developed drivers operate on additional hardware units and are not officially supported or certified by Josh.ai. The new functionality gives professional installers greater freedom to address specialized client requests while continuing to utilize Josh.ai’s modern control experience.
Separately, Josh.ai is introducing its first certified TV lift integration with Nexus 21, bringing seamless control of motorized TV positioning and concealment to the connected home. Developed by Chowmainsoft, the certified driver supports preset lift positions that can be incorporated into Josh scenes, conditional automations, and activated across Josh.ai’s user interfaces. Nexus 21 lift systems, regardless of model or age, can support Josh.ai integration when equipped with the appropriate Universal Control Hub, available directly from Nexus 21.
