Eleven Engineering Launches Strawberry 3

Eleven Engineering has launched the Strawberry 3 Amplified SKAA Wireless Audio Receiver Module.

Eleven Engineering has launched the Strawberry 3 Amplified SKAA Wireless Audio Receiver Module. Strawberry 3 will be available in Q4 2016. The latest iteration of the Strawberry Module now offers the Merus Audio eximo digital amplifier technology.

“Ideal for speaker systems across multiple platforms, whether it be home theater, outdoor, Pro MI studio, and DJ, the Strawberry 3 module is the complete package,” explained Rex Whitehead, Eleven Engineering director of sales, North America. “Strawberry 3 integrates the Ginseng SKAA receiver, the world-class eximo digital amplifier from Merus Audio, and a full-featured audio DSP, creating a small and powerful amplified wireless receiver for passive speakers.”

Strawberry 3’s audio output is BOM selectable for either 40W or 70W per channel. Eleven Engineering’s proprietary adaptive frequency hopping protocol uses a narrow footprint in the 2.4 GHz band allowing co-existence with other devices.

“Strawberry 3 is a fully equipped module ready for easy implementation into wireless speakers for multiple applications,” Whitehead continued. “We purposely sought out the industry’s leading digital amplifier maker to complement our industry leading wireless technology. Based in the birthplace of digital amplification, Denmark-based Merus Audio fills that role perfectly.”

“eximo is our multi-level switching audio amplifier technology that is available as single-chip amplifier solutions for a wide range of audio applications,” explained Martin Bruun Helms, Merus Audio director of global sales. “eximo offers the most energy-efficient audio amplifier technology available, enabling significant extension of battery lifetime, drastically reducing heat dissipation, and operates without a heatsink. Merus brings an ideal amplification technology to Strawberry 3.”

In addition, eximo is compact, thus eliminating the need for large external LC filtering, reducing solution size, and Bill-of-Material. Its low distortion levels and excellent noise performance coupled with multi-level switching enables high bandwidth and compliance with High-Resolution Audio requirements. It is EMC compliant even in a filterless configuration.

SKAA is the wireless HiFi audio standard developed by Eleven Engineering. SKAA transmitters work with iOS and Android mobile devices; Mac and Windows computers; televisions, and just about any product with a line output or a headphone jack. SKAA is also available as a built-in technology not requiring an external transmitter in purpose-designed partner products, which are featured at SKAA.com. In environments laden with heavy Wi-Fi and Bluetooth traffic, SKAA navigates through these hostile environments with best-in-class reliability. SKAA also allows for uninterrupted audio signals that are delivered with the highest sound quality to all speakers without the latency that is inherent in other wireless solutions.

“SKAA is ridiculously easy to use…all compatible products are ready to play right out of the box with no pairing required”, explained John Sobota, Eleven Engineering CEO and director. “SKAA is also highly flexible as it is compatible with any brand, any product, anytime, anywhere, with rock solid reliability, great range, and CD-quality sound. SKAA.com is the source for all things SKAA.”
