MartinLogan has released two new ElectroMotion home theater speakers, the ElectroMotion C2 center channel and the ElectroMotion FX2 surround.

The ElectroMotion C2 center channel speaker.

Electrostatic and compact Folded Motion thin film transducer technologies are incorporated into the non-floor standing speakers.

The EM-C2 center channel and EM-FX2 wide-dispersion surround channel speakers feature the next evolution of Folded Motion technology. MartinLogan’s larger, low distortion Folded Motion XT tweeter boasts a radiating surface 40 percent larger than those found in their Motion Series products. Add in one or more Dynamo 1000 subwoofers, and MartinLogan ElectroMotion sound can be enjoyed in a 5.1, 7.2 or any other speaker array.

Priced at $799.95, and sized similar to a traditional audio/video receiver, the EM-C2 is designed to fit discretely within any standard audio-video cabinet. The EM-C2’s balanced dual 5.25-inch high-excursion, doped fiber-cone woofers are blended with the Folded Motion XT tweeter by a high-precision, advanced topology audiophile-grade crossover network. The EM-C2 is rated at 94dB.

Priced at $649.95 each, the EM-FX2 surround speakers feature dual Folded Motion XT tweeters in a wide-dispersion array suited for surround channel applications. A single 6.5-inch doped fiber-cone woofer provides powerful low-frequency extension. Available in either black or white, the EM-FX2 is designed to corner mount, wall mount or angle-wall mount.

The ElectroMotion Series also features push-style speaker terminals, adapted from MartinLogan’s Motion Series, with curved inserts that help guide speaker wire into place. The terminal’s rubber end caps are removable to accommodate banana plugs.
