Open Mesh Boosts Wireless Network Performance with New Access Point

A42 Access Point is the Company’s First to Feature 802.11 AC Wave 2 Technology

Open Mesh, a company with cloud-managed Wi-Fi access points and switches deployed in more than 100,000 networks worldwide, has introduced the A42 access point, its first to feature 802.11 AC Wave 2 technology.

Equipped with a quad core processor and employing dual radios (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz) with MU-MIMO transmission technology, the A42 can support twice the number of devices and deliver up to three times more data throughput than the previous model.

The A42 builds on Open Mesh’s A-Series form factor that offers an almost unlimited number of indoor and outdoor mounting options, reducing the complexity of installations. The access point includes ceiling, wall, pole, Ethernet jack, and desktop mounting kits and is outdoor rated.

“The A42 continues our mission of making Wi-Fi systems smarter, more powerful, and easier to deploy and manage,” said Ryan Detwiller, Open Mesh’s general manager. “When managing through Open Mesh’s CloudTrax software, system managers have a host of powerful features at their fingertips, including plug-and-play deployment, client management, usage statistics, and troubleshooting capabilities.”
