SnapAV Releases Luma Surveillance IP Cameras

SnapAV is now selling its brand new line of Luma IP cameras, supplementing the series of intuitive analog cameras they released in 2015 and creating wide-range surveillance solutions for custom installers.

“We made a lot of big improvements with this series,” said Alex Patrao, product manager of Luma Surveillance. “They’ve got 4-megapixel resolution—which, by the way, is more than twice the resolution of our old Wirepath line—plus motorized zoom and focus on select cameras, and letterbox sensors that are tailor-made for the AV market.”

Additionally, these IP cameras offer several new features. Luma’s Smart Motion technology has enhanced intrusion detection alerts to reduce false alerts: for example, installers can now schedule notifications based on line-crossing or custom intrusion settings. Simply select unique targeted areas in a grid view with a simple click and drag of a mouse. Integrators can also change typical image settings like white balance levels or digital noise reduction between day and night. Additionally, Luma cameras and recorders are enabled for quick remote management using OvrC, SnapAV’s cloud-based troubleshooting platform.

“These new cameras also support both continuous recording and event recording modes, due to a huge NVR firmware update,” Patrao said. “Now you can record everything, and find important events whenever you need them, either through a search or by scrolling in the timeline.”
