Steinway Lyngdorf has launched the S–Series, compact speaker units designed for smaller-scale private residences, hospitality establishments, and private yachts, where space is at a premium.

The new S-Series features a patent-pending AER (Ambience Enhancing Radiation) dipole tweeter design. The result is a dispersion of the highest frequencies which achieves an enveloping and ambient sound, providing listeners in even very small rooms with the feeling of being in a very large space, according to the company.

Additionally, the S-Series leverages Steinway Lyngdorf’s proprietary RoomPerfect technology, a fully three-dimensional room correction technology that digitally maps the sound field of any room to deliver accurate sound. The Steinway Lyngdorf Digital Link used in combination with fully digital amplifiers also ensures the audio signal remains entirely digital.

The series consists of the S-15, a slim mid-high speaker and the S-210, an on-floor boundary woofer, which provides tonally accurate and highly musical bass with virtually no cabinet vibrations, Steinway says. The matching set can be installed in stereo, when combined with the newly launched fully digital SP-1 Stereo Processor, or with the P1 Surround Sound Processor for the ultimate cinematic experience. In either configuration, one has the choice of fully digital amplifiers, the A1 (2 channel) or the soon to be launched A2 (4 channel).

“The S -Series is an outstanding addition to the Steinway Lyngdorf portfolio,” said Peter Lyngdorf, founder, Steinway Lyngdorf. “When designing the S–Series, it was imperative that we retained the hallmarks of Steinway Lyngdorf, including state-of-the-art acoustical technologies, and the finest craftsmanship and design. We stayed true to our values of providing only the very best, while pushing the innovation envelope to deliver the same quality in a much more compact unit.”

The S -Series system pricing starts at $22,100, which includes an SP-1 stereo processor and A1 amplifiers, and is available worldwide through a network of selected partners.
