Q&A with Randy Reece, director of audiovisual sales and marketing, Draper.
Why CEDIA Expo 2022?
CEDIA allows us to engage with some of our most important partners. It’s also a great opportunity to create new partnerships because the CI family is going to be there. We get to show off new technology and see what others are bringing in as well.
What is the most exciting trend you expect to see at the show?
From our company’s standpoint we’re excited to see people so interested in smart shading systems — for both indoor and outdoor applications. Spending more time at home over the past couple of years really started people thinking about new ways to use outdoor spaces. Shades are definitely part of that because of their ability to create comfortable conditions and also contribute aesthetically. There’s also a bit of the “wow” factor involved, which gets people excited.
What will you focus on at the show?
Our focus continues to be on shades — both interior and outdoor. We’re really excited this year because we have a couple of huge additions to our interior shading line. These are solutions that we’ve developed specifically for residential use, but with the same quality materials and robust processes that have made us a brand trusted by architects for decades.
