Q&A with Clint Childress, director of residential markets, Draper.
Why exhibit at CEDIA Expo 2023?
CEDIA is ground zero for the residential custom installation industry. It has everyone you want to talk to, every company you want to partner with, and every technology you want to see. CEDIA is an opportunity to interact with integrators and decision makers. They help us understand their customers’ needs and we can share our company values and our innovative solutions to meet those needs.
What is the most exciting trend you expect to see at the show?
Continued growth in light control and shading opportunities, and in outdoor living. Integrators want to grow their shade knowledge and expand their offerings. Outdoor shades add extra value to projects because they tie in so well with lighting control and comfort. And of course, people are still spending more time outdoors and looking for ways to take indoor comfort levels outside with them.
What will you focus on at the show?
We’re focusing on educating the channel that we have both indoor and outdoor shading capabilities. We will be in CEDIA’s “Destination Outdoors” area, demonstrating our range of ZIP and other outdoor shading systems. We’ll also be showing some unique solutions from European partners that are exclusive to us. Inside, in booth 3912, we will be showing several new solutions, including a new cassette shade, a shade for gabled windows, an interior “zipper” shade, and a cordless manual shade. We’ll also have StyleLine, a flexible new fixed frame screen that is simple to install.
We’re also focusing on our ability to produce shades in custom colors. Our Certified Digital Color Specialists will match any color a customer wants. We’re also introducing two new shading products, and a new fixed frame projection screen. Our custom ability, product offering, and European partnerships all set us apart from other manufacturers.
