From Crestron’s John Clancy, Executive Vice President:

We’re reaching out with updated information for our partners, industry colleagues, and friends regarding Crestron’s plans for the upcoming 2021 CEDIA Expo in Indianapolis. In light of the re-escalating COVID health crisis and the spread of the Delta variant, we have made the difficult decision to fully cancel our presence at this year’s CEDIA Expo, including our booth, dealer trainings, press engagements, and social events.

It has been six years since Crestron last attended Expo. We had been eagerly anticipating the opportunity to connect with dealers and show off Crestron Home’s latest developments. Never before has Crestron been more ready to attend a show. Despite our enthusiasm and our investment in the show, however, recent news has forced us to reassess the risks.

It remains unclear how the spread of the Delta variant will progress in the coming weeks, but our primary concern is and always will be the well-being of our employees, their families, and our industry partners and friends. We had hoped the 2021 CEDIA Expo would represent a much-needed reinvigoration of our industry. It may stillbut with so much uncertainty, we felt a responsibility to share our plans sooner so that partners and peers had actionable information.

We understand this may come as disappointing news, but we remain optimistic about the resiliency of our industry and the countless incredible people who compose it. We eagerly await our next opportunity to come together.

From Lutron’s Sam Chambers, Senior Director – Residential Systems:

Despite several months of preparation and planning, Lutron has made the difficult decision to withdraw from CEDIA Expo 2021. This decision doesn’t come lightly and was made in the best interest of our employees, our customers, and the broader CEDIA community. Like the companies that announced their plans earlier, we, too, are concerned by the uncertainties of the Delta variant and its potential impact to families and businesses.

Lutron has been a member of the CEDIA community for 30 years, and we were looking forward to introducing many new innovations in person at CEDIA Expo this year. Our commitment to our customers and the industry remains steadfast and we look forward to a time when we can all be together again.

We are working on plans to virtually share the latest Lutron innovations with our customers in the coming months.

From Savant:

In order to best protect our employees, our customers and all industry associates from the impact of COVID-19 and the unpredictable Delta variant, Savant will not be exhibiting in person at the 2021 CEDIA Expo.

In lieu of our originally planned onsite CEDIA experience, our team is preparing engaging virtual sessions so that we can share exciting product news and deliver informative content to best support your businesses through these challenging times.

This year’s show is slated to be the biggest ever for Savant, including new products and innovations from GE Lighting, a Savant company and Savant Power, all exhibiting virtually together for the first time—more details on our virtual sessions coming soon.

To our integration partners worldwide, everyone at Savant is inspired by your fortitude and energy to thrive despite the challenges of a global pandemic. We salute your skill and determination as you serve customers with great care each and every day, and we look forward to meeting you assuming safer conditions early next year as Savant prepares smaller, targeted events for 2022 in Q1.

From Snap One:

Like many in the industry, Snap One has been eager to attend the upcoming CEDIA Expo to connect with our business and industry Partners and show our latest product offerings.

However, recent news about the COVID Delta variant and an increase in cases has caused us to re-evaluate the risks and benefits of attending a large, in-person event at this time. Because of this, we will no longer be attending the CEDIA Expo this year. Snap One will not have a booth presence, training, party, keynote, or employees present at the show.

This was a difficult decision, and we understand it will be disappointing for many, including us. Our highest priority is keeping our employees, partners, and families safe, and helping to minimize any factors that may negatively impact businesses.

We don’t know how things will unfold over the next several weeks, but we believe it is important to make this decision now so individuals can plan accordingly.

We plan to connect with our Partners and industry representatives in the coming weeks regarding our latest company news and announcements.
