AHA Acquires Electronics Source in South Florida, Caribbean

AHA Distributing has acquired Electronics Source Distributors.

AHA Distributing (a member of Southeast Catalyst AV Distributors Group) has acquired fellow Catalyst member, Electronics Source Distributors, a CEDIA channel solutions-specialized distributor based in Boynton Beach, FL. By way of the deal, AHA expands its reach to South Florida and Caribbean markets and expands its portfolio of heritage CEDIA channel brands that can be delivered rapidly throughout Florida.

Effective February 1, operations began under the banner of AHA Distributing. Electronics Source inside sales managers Mark Johnson and Paul Lacourse are continuing on with AHA Distributing. The Boynton Beach phone number (561.687.7737) remains the same.

AHA is hosting an Open House Event on March 29 that features 15 exhibiting manufacturers, product giveaways, aggressive promotions, and refreshments. Admission is free.

All the lines that Electronics Source offered to its Florida/Caribbean markets remain fully available from the Boynton Beach location. In addition, AHA brings Boston Acoustics, Definitive Technology, Denon, Ethereal, Just Add Power, Key Digital, Luxul, Middle Atlantic, Origin Acoustics, Parasound, Platinum Tools, Seura, Speco, Transformative Engineering, Vivitek, and Wilson Electronics.

Similarly, through the acquisition, Electronics Source’s product lines are now available at AHA Tampa. The lines are Onkyo, Screen Innovations, Seura, Total Control, Tivo, and URC.

“We have tremendous respect for what Mike Hench and Electronics Source achieved in Florida and Caribbean and are excited to now make these markets part of the AHA family,” said AHA founder and CEO Chris Gilray. “Dealers will love our special touch of lucrative loyalty rewards programs, frequent newsletters/product updates, aggressive on-site training schedule and of course our CEDIA channel-centric sales and tech support.”

“I’m extremely pleased and excited to see Electronics Source become part of AHA Distributing,” said Mike Hench, founder and president of Electronics Source. “This is a real benefit for all the dealers and will greatly enhance AHA Distributing’s presence in the entire state of Florida and the Caribbean.”

Hench established Electronics Source to serve the Florida market more than 20 years ago. Both Electronics Source and AHA Distributing are member companies of the Catalyst AV Distributors Group (established 2012), of which Hench is a co-founder and board member. Hench will be stepping down from the Catalyst Board, and will continue in the channel, focusing his efforts on his sales rep firm L.P. Hench Company Inc.

As part of the expansion into South Florida, AHA has already made some organizational changes. Chris Gentile, previously GM of AHA Atlanta, has been promoted to VP of operations across all four AHA warehouse locations. The company has also appointed Mark Burke as GM of Tampa. Burke was previously with integration firm Dynamark Systems.
