Through a new strategic alliance, Lutron and SnapAV have natively integrated the new Lutron RA2 Select main repeater with remote management platform OvrC.

Their new alliance is designed to make lighting control simpler for integrators. The companies say that they hope to help dealers learn, buy, configure, and generally support whole-house lighting control systems, as well as ease existing sales barriers, so integrators in the field are able to weave lighting into more jobs than ever.
Lutron’s Gerard Darville, director of product management, agrees. “With the growing interest in smart home, the opportunity for integrators to expand their businesses with lighting controls has never been greater. The simplicity of the RA2 Select wireless lighting control system, combined with the powerful OvrC remote management platform, allows installers to more easily explore these products and grow their business within a category that will ultimately lead to more customers and greater sales.”
Through the integrated solution, integrators will get event notifications and have visibility of the main repeater and its sub-components, as well as be able to troubleshoot issues, reboot the system, and fully configure the system remotely—eliminating unneeded truck rolls.
Snap’s VP of connected products, Kenny Kim, believes that this opens up new possibilities for the remote management platform. “Through this integration, the RA2 Select system becomes a valuable part of the OvrC ecosystem. It’s the first non-SnapAV product to be natively integrated with OvrC, giving our integrators the same valuable remote features as Snap-connected products. Native integration allows us to do much more in the future to make our dealers’ lives easier.”
Levy views this joint effort as the first of its kind. “It’s the best lighting control and the best remote management, sold together on the best website. What could be better?”
