PMC Opens New Distribution Location in Omaha

The second location opening for Catalyst AV distribution member Pioneer Music Company recently held its Grand Slam Opening event in Omaha, NE.

VP of PMC Alec Haight

The second location opening for Catalyst AV distribution member Pioneer Music Company recently held its Grand Slam Opening event in Omaha, NE. Alec Haight, VP of PMC, will be running the new location alongside his branch manager, Brett Robertson. The company’s other location is near Wichita, KS.

“The Grand Slam Opening was great,” Haight said. “Omaha provides us an opportunity to satisfy the just-in-time needs of quality accounts in Omaha, Lincoln, and the surrounding territory. It also enables us to have one-day shipping to all states in our territory.”

Other factors in the decision included Omaha’s economic consistency and its distance from the company’s Lenexa, NE, headquarters.

“Not only will it give east Nebraska and west Iowa ‘just in time inventory,’ but the PMC team will bring training, knowledge, and step-up products to the area,” said David Penrod of Definitive Technology. “The event was one of the best I have attended this year, the PMC team does a great job introducing area dealers to each vendor. They take the time to explain why they represent a particular line. As a manufacturer it was imperative to be here; the integrators were impressed with the value of the Definitive line—not only does it sound good, but represents excellent build quality for the price. A great step-up brand!”

PMC, a family-owned and operated business, has been fulfilling the needs of its customers since 1869—140-plus years.

“With the just-in-time model becoming more critical in our industry, it is all the more important for us as a distributor to operate as a one-stop shop for our integrators,” Haight said. “Keeping a wide variety of product and having that product in stock will be key to experiencing continual growth in Omaha. Overall, this move adds to the excitement we all share for the near future of Pioneer Music Company.”

Training is an integral part of the PMC philosophy for success. The Grand Slam opening featured three sessions to help set a foundation for a training to happen every two months at the Omaha location. Trainings during Grand Slam included, from Luxul: “Future Proof Networking for Home/Commercial AV;” from Atlona: “5 Things to Know Before Installing 4K;” and from URC: “Total Control Entertainment, Lighting, Climate, and More.”

The main focus of the Grand Slam event was interaction with customers in an open area in the warehouse with a grill where everyone could chat about business, new product lines, and more.

“It was a total company effort to strategize and plan this opening, and each one of us felt the added work in the venture,” Haight said. “Months of combing over budgets, call lists, bills, transfers, materials, etc., all came to a head with a day at the College World Series: we gave out 20 tickets! That was the perfect end event for us, standing as a reminder that at the end of the day, we’re about forming relationships more than anything else.”

The new PMC location is 14535 Grover Street in Omaha, NE.
