Shipping Update: Panamax/Furman’s HT Power Management Systems

The new products provide safe, discreet power to remote displays.

Petaluma, CA–Panamax/Furman has released two new products: the MIW-XT In-Wall Power Management Extender System and the MIW-SURGE In-Wall Surge Protection System. These products provide code-compliant power management solutions for remotely located or uniquely installed devices, such as plasma panel displays, LCD TVs, or projectors while eliminating the need to run unsightly extension cords and signal cables from the component rack to a remote device.

Home theater devices installed in remote applications should not be excluded from receiving clean, regulated AC power, sourced from a potentially distant rack of equipment. The MIW-XT extends the benefits of a Panamax or Furman power conditioning component to remotely located equipment. It also offers EMI/RFI noise filtration built into the outlet receptacles for additional AC noise filtration, offsetting the noise induced when distributing AC power. The MIW-SURGE, features point-of-use protection for similar applications containing remotely installed home theater equipment. The MIW-SURGE is a single in-wall power management solution that is ideal for components such as a flat panel display or a subwoofer in which fundamental surge protection is mandatory.

Both the MIW-XT and MIW-SURGE accommodate a wide variety of common low voltage signal line installation solutions for the ultimate customization of installations, including signal line pass-through inserts, Decora adapters, Keystone adapters, and Panamax/Furman signal line modules. The installation solutions using Decora adapters are capable of housing a variety of audio/video connections or accessory ports. The MIW-SURGE and MIW-XT feature adjustable depth pass-through inserts for either a 2-port Keystone adapter or the classic rubber grommet dressing. These integrated signal level module bays also accommodate Panamax/Furman’s available MIW signal line modules such as the MIW-5RCA, MIW-VGA, MIW-SVIDEO, and MIW-DATA.

For clean, code-compliant, and professional installations, these power management systems are a perfect match with ultra-thin electronic displays, offering a slim profile that allows displays to hang less than one inch from the wall. Compatible with most standard electrical boxes, the MIW-XT and MIW-SURGE are CSA certified for code-compliant installations and offer a three-year product warranty.

“Our customers rely on our MIW products to provide the same clean power to their remote display devices as our component equipment does at the main rack,” said Dave Keller, senior vice president of sales and marketing for Panamax and Furman. “By adding the MIW-XT and MIW-SURGE to our offering, we are continuing to provide our customers with the broadest range of in-wall power solutions for discreet and code-compliant installations in every location in the home.”

Available in October 2008, the MIW-XT SRP is $149.95 and the MIW-SURGE SRP is $69.95. Both products will be featured at CEDIA EXPO 2008 in Denver at the Panamax/Furman Booth 618.
