Origin Acoustics has announced the expansion and acoustic technology upgrades of its Ambisonic Bollard landscape speaker solutions. The speakers feature Ambisonic ribbon tweeter technology, expand from two to three sizes of speakers to complete the series, and introduce a new hexagonal design to complement any residential or commercial outdoor space.
All Ambisonic Bollard landscape speakers will now feature high-performance Ambisonic round planar magnetic ribbon tweeter technology for superior high-frequency reproduction and clarity with lower distortion at higher power levels.
Origin Acoustics is expanding its Ambisonic Bollard landscape series by adding a medium-sized solution to complete the series for a total of three sizes — Bollard 106 (large), Bollard 85 (medium), and Bollard 64 (small) — for powerful performances in any residential or commercial outdoor application.
The new Ambisonic Bollard 85 landscape speaker features an easy-to-bury 8-inch integrated subwoofer, a 5.25-inch down-firing driver that disperses 360-degree sound patterns, and a 22-inch structure that extends out of the ground. The sub is ported out of the same opening as the mid/tweeter for cohesive sound.
Each Ambisonic Bollard speaker has an adjustable impedance setting for 8 ohms, along with 70v/100v. This allows for installation flexibility with nearly 200-800W watts of peak power handling, depending on the model, and the ability to play from 32 Hz to 20 kHz. Larger transformers/tap settings on the subwoofer deliver clean and deep bass at louder volumes.
Additionally, a modern new hexagonal aluminum speaker sleeve will eventually replace the existing round and square options in the series. Bollard speaker sleeves are designed to withstand harsh outdoor elements, including moisture, heat, and the sun, while maintaining the aluminum’s natural beauty. The sleeve styles are available in three colors to complement any outdoor environment — Midnight Black, Stargazing Silver, and Champaign — and are backed by a five-year warranty.
