LumaStream Unveils Low-Voltage ‘Can-Less’ Downlight

Low-Profile Fixture with Remote Driver Delivers Ultra-Wide Dispersion as Part of the LumaStream Low-Voltage LED Lighting System

LumaStream, St. Petersburg, FL-based manufacturer of premium low-voltage LED lighting systems, has introduced the IDL6R Downlight Fixture, a low-profile 6-inch solution available in round or square form factors.

The IDL6R delivers what the company calls “pleasing light” from an 140-degree beam angle. The LumaStream IDL6R reduces glare by using LEDs pointing toward the rear of the lens-less fixture, reflecting indirect light into the desired space.

The fully dimmable IDL6R is a low-profile IC-rated (Insulation Contact) fixture that eliminates the metal frame that is associated with most recessed lighting. Because the IDL6R uses LumaStream’s patented remote driver technology, the cool-running, slender fixture is an appealing solution for MDU and condo installations where ceiling height is at a premium. Integrators no longer have to be concerned with the presence of insulation and/or humidity around their recessed lighting installations because there are no electronics located within the fixture assembly.

There is an optional new construction mounting frame available for the IDL6R, enhancing efficiency for integrators at the time of installation.

“The new IDL6R fixture is another valuable tool enabling our integration partners to differentiate themselves and offer superior solutions as part of LumaStream’s high-efficiency, low-voltage LED lighting system,” explained company CEO Eric Higgs. “LumaStream represents an opportunity for commercial and residential integration firms to deliver valuable products and services to new and existing clients.”

With LumaStream, integrators have full control over an end-to-end, architectural LED lighting solution that is modern and energy-efficient, without the need to be dependent on a licensed electrician. Most critically, LumaStream supports their integration partners with comprehensive lighting design services as well as technical and sales support teams, giving them access to high-level expertise and a pathway to success in the lighting category.
