In our series of #CEDIAShares blogs, we’re talking with exhibitors about the hottest technologies and trends they’re looking to see at CEDIA Expo/CIX 2025.

Q&A with Cathy You, SVP at Aqara.

Why exhibit at CEDIA Expo/CIX 2025?
In 2025, Aqara seeks to further cement its status as a top smart home brand with one of the widest breadth of products in the North American market, as well as raise awareness about professional solutions that meet the demands of high-performing homes and non-residential properties such as multifamily homes, workspaces, hospitality, and senior living facilities.

Aqara is making its first foray into the residential installation and integrator market with Aqara Studio’s debut at CEDIA Expo with this objective in mind. Aqara Studio is a customizable IoT platform that integrates device networking, smart management, intuitive visualization programming, and effortless building operations.

CEDIA Expo is the premier event for residential technology integrators and the ideal place to connect directly with professionals who share our mission of creating smarter, safer, and more sustainable living environments. We see this as a critical opportunity to showcase our latest innovations, exchange ideas with integrators and partners, and demonstrate how Aqara solutions can help them deliver exceptional experiences to their clients.

What is the most exciting trend you expect to see at the show?
We’re thrilled to see that the smart home industry has increasingly enhanced the interoperability across devices, brands, and platforms, and we believe we will continue witnessing this trend at the show. The momentum behind Matter is real — and it’s reshaping the future of smart homes. As one of the earliest adopters of Matter, Aqara not only offers a broad portfolio of Matter-compatible devices with seamless integration across platforms (e.g., Apple Home, Google Assistant, Amazon Alexa, Samsung SmartThings, and Home Assistant) but also enhanced its own Aqara system with the ability to integrate more than 50 types of Matter devices from other brands. Matter has become a defining force in smart home development, and Aqara is proud to deliver on its promise to bridge simplicity, scalability, and sophistication for today’s connected living environments. We are excited by the level of cross-platform integration and flexibility that Matter offers custom installers, removing vendor lock-in and offering long-term peace of mind to clients.

Aqara is also ushering in the next era of the smart home with artificial intelligence. With AI, smart homes can respond dynamically to real-time conditions as well as user preferences and routines. These systems use data from across the ecosystem of sensors, cameras, and actuators (e.g., locks, HVAC, lights, and blinds) to deliver deeply personalized automation. Providing benefits for use cases like adaptive environments, aging in place, and child and pet monitoring. However, Aqara’s vision of the smart home does not stop at device control. The next era of AI is ambient intelligence that intuitively and proactively adapts to each resident, and Aqara is working towards that vision for end consumers.

At CEDIA Expo, Aqara hopes integrators and technology designers will experience how an open system and AI together can simplify smart home installation and maintenance, expand system flexibility, and deliver high-performance smart homes that truly think for themselves.

What will you focus on at the show?
While we can’t reveal all the details just yet, visitors can expect to see the live demo of our Aqara Studio platform as well as an assortment of our latest products with seamless Matter compatibility. These solutions bring more interoperability, flexibility, and future-proofing to integrators and homeowners. We are particularly excited to showcase Aqara Studio as the next-gen, customizable IoT platform that integrates device networking, smart management, intuitive visualization programming, and effortless building operations — all in one powerful solution. It can be used in owned or rental homes, apartments and condos, schools, hotels and restaurants, office buildings, senior living facilities, hospitals, and more.
