Most industry members share a common story of another member who was critical to their success, offering guidance and wisdom, whether it was in the beginning of their career or as a seasoned business owner. Our #CEDIATweeps shared a few of their stories of making connections with people at the show:

I met Steve Greenblatt from Control Concepts at CEDIA last year and he ended up working with us on a commercial project that we just finished up.
–Todd Puma, The Source Home Theater

Met Sound & Vision editor-in-chief, Rob Sabin, at my first CEDIA; still write for him to this day. Developed a personal relationship with Kaleidescape’s CEO, Cheena Srinivasan, that has proved invaluable. It’s where I met Betsey Banker in person for the first time and, seriously, who doesn’t love Betsey Banker?!
–John Sciacca, Custom Theater & Audio

CEDIA Groups is a new year-round program designed to provide a community for networking, mentoring, and idea sharing.

Rich Fregosa! Met him the first year as a Tweep and last year we hired him to help us program a Crestron system that had become larger than us! John Sciacca - he introduced me to Jeremy and my Residential Systems life was born. This reinvigorated me which drove my decision to purchase the company in 2014.
–Heather Sidorowicz, Southtown Audio Video

I’m sure you have community stories of your own–almost everyone I’ve met in the industry does. There is such a strong and vibrant community within our industry, and CEDIA is often the common thread. Beyond the show, which is a critical touchpoint for community, CEDIA is building programs that will make it easier for members to connect with one another on a year-round basis. One of these programs has already started.

CEDIA Groups

CEDIA Groups is a new year-round program designed to provide a community for networking, mentoring, and idea sharing. Groups are made up of five to seven CEDIA member integrator companies. A “group lead” helps facilitate the conversations, and each group has access to advisors–seasoned integrators with years of demonstrated success who bring additional perspective to the table. During these meetings, you take competition off the table. There is no need to fear rivalry because CEDIA forms groups of people based on their company size and time zone, avoiding conflicts with integrators in the same region. Groups meet monthly and have the opportunity to meet face-to-face at CEDIA events.

If you are ready to expand your network, be part of a group, and learn from industry leaders, then a CEDIA Group is right for you. Complete the online application available at cedia.net/groups.

CEDIA Groups are an exclusive benefit for CEDIA members. Make sure you’ve renewed your CEDIA membership so you continue to have access to all the tools and resources you need to stay competitive in this ever-changing industry.
