HTSA is initiating a formal search for a managing director as part of a planned leadership transition designed to support the organization’s next phase of growth.

The group is targeting year-end for a successful transition but emphasizes that the priority is finding the right person, not just the first available candidate. Executive searches can be unpredictable, and HTSA is committed to adjusting the timeline if necessary rather than compromising on fit.
Jon Robbins, HTSA’s long-time leader, is not retiring. He will continue to work full-time on behalf of HTSA, its members, and its vendors through December 31. Beyond that date, Robbins plans to continue his career in the industry, with the specifics of that next chapter still to be defined. If timing aligns, HTSA’s intent is for Robbins to help onboard and transition a new managing director so that person has a deep understanding of HTSA’s culture and community from day one.
This timeline is intended to provide focused leadership for day-to-day operations, programs, and initiatives, while ensuring the group remains strongly positioned to serve its members, vendors, and industry partners.
HTSA remains fully committed to its core mission of supporting leading technology integrators and vendor partners, as well as to its growing collaboration with AVIXA and ProSource on Reside, the new co-located initiative at InfoComm that builds on the legacy of Lightapalooza. The managing director role will ensure the organization has the leadership capacity and structure to sustain and expand these efforts.
