Lutron Electronics, manufacturer of energy-saving, wireless lighting, and shade control, has expanded use of its embedded EcoSystem LED technology. “EcoSystem-enabled” is synonymous with intelligent, guaranteed-compatible digital fixture control, and is available in a growing number of LED products throughout the lighting industry.
In the next year, GE Lighting plans to grow its portfolio of leading LED fixtures by launching a selection of EcoSystem-enabled models. This move will allow direct control of their fixtures from any EcoSystem-compatible control without the need for interfaces or additional hardware.
“Embedding the Lutron chip technology into our new LED fixtures provides customers with reliable LED control by enabling direct communication between our fixtures and Lutron’s EcoSystem dimming control systems. The industry is experiencing rapid change, and by aligning with Lutron, we can offer our customers an integrated solution and a reliable control option that ensures compatibility between the fixture and the control system,” said Jerry Duffy, general manager, global product management, GE Lighting.
Lutron EcoSystem technology will also be incorporated into Lumenetix araya LED modules, which uniquely offers separate control of color temperature and color intensity. These modules will be available in fixtures from a variety of different OEM manufacturers.
These new offerings add to the growing list of alliances with other respected industry LED technology innovators such as Cree, Lumenpulse and Lunera, which previously added embedded EcoSystem products to their portfolios.
“By adding GE and Lumenetix to our existing roster of embedded EcoSystem alliances, we are offering lighting designers, specifiers, and end users an even wider variety of products from which to choose. Knowing that these solutions offer guaranteed compatibility backed by Lutron alleviates much of the uncertainty that customers may experience when controlling LEDs,” explained Mark Jenner, director of new business alliances at Lutron.
