Boston Acoustics P Series High Performance Loudspeakers

Boston Acoustics solution for use in advanced home theater systems, the P Series High Performance Loudspeakers, feature multiple models designed for different display devices and sizes. P Series Speakers are engineered to deliver powerful, room-filling audio in a slim, sleek, compact chassis design that complements plasma and LCD displays, DLP rear-projection consoles, and traditional screens.

The P Series includes five loudspeakers–the P460 (MAP: $750 each), the P450 (MAP: $600 each), the P442 (MAP: $500), the P430 (MAP: $350), as well as the flagship P400 High Performance Slim Theater Speaker (MAP: $1500). Like all Boston Acoustics speakers, P Series speakers are designed and engineered in-house by Boston, and powerfully deliver The Boston Sound, reproducing music and movie sound with exceptional accuracy, the way the artist intended. The Boston Sound recreates music and movie soundtracks with a pure and neutral tonal consistency that is consistent among all Boston Acoustics speakers, no matter how they are mixed and matched or mounted in home entertainment system configurations.

P400: Three Surround Sound Channels in One Slim Space-Saving Solution
Bostons P400 High-Performance Slim Theater Speaker is the industrys first to provide left, center, and right channels in one elegant, space-saving solution. Its a unique three-channels-in-one solution that ushers in the next generation of home theater sound, with a unique bar-shaped design that fits perfectly on the wall below a flat-panel display.

With the exception of the P400, each P Series model is designed as a single-channel speaker sized to match the vertical dimension of an appropriate display screen. Thus, the P460 Speaker is best suited for screen sizes approximately 60-inches and larger diagonally, the P450 Speaker for displays roughly 50-inches and larger, the P442 Speaker for displays 42-inches and larger, and the P430 Speaker for screen sizes 26-inches and larger. However, since all models share the Boston Sound, different sizes can be mixed and matched for a given application.

For custom installation professionals and retailers, the P Series has been designed for total ease and flexibility of placement, delivering the maximum number of solutions for customers with the minimum investment in inventory.

Every P Series speaker, for example, is designed for use as a left-, center, or right-channel speaker, eliminating the need for retailers to stock an additional matching center channel model. Every P Series speaker also ships with both black and silver grilles, enabling one speaker unit to serve, for inventory purposes, as a left, right and matching center speaker in both available colors.

Each P Series speaker also comes supplied with a rugged wall-mounting bracket that makes it easy to position the speaker vertically or horizontally. Additional mounting options include the elegant P4TS Table Mount (MAP: $80, each) and stylish P4FL Floor Mount (MAP: $320, a pair), both available separately. The Table Mount is ideal for placing speakers on credenzas or cabinets next to DLP and Plasma displays. The cast-aluminum Floor Mount transforms the compact P4 models into stately, next-generation floor-standing speakers. The stand adjusts to a top height of 57 inches, perfectly complementing todays largest LCD- and DLP based televisions and monitors.

The P460, P450 and P442 Speakers feature multiple 4-1?2-inch woofers for deep, authoritative bass response, low distortion, and smooth uniform upper bass/lower midrange frequency response. They also employ a 4-1?2-inch midrange driver with a large 1-1?2-inch voice coil for superb driver control and extremely high power handling. All three speakers also feature Boston Acoustics high output 1-inch anodized aluminum VRH.O. tweeter. The P430 features one 4-1?2-inch woofer, one 4-1?2-inch midrange driver, and a 1-inch VR aluminum-dome tweeter.

All P Series Speaker cabinets are constructed from extruded aluminum for superb structural integrity, helping to eliminate the spurious resonances and vibration that degrade the sound of ordinary speakers. In addition, to make them ideal for use in all home theater system applications, all models feature MagnaGuard magnetic shielding, ensuring that they may be placed in close proximity to any type display device without any image interference caused by the speakers magnetic field.
